A Social Thinking Curriculum By Stephanie Madrigal and Michelle Garcia Winner
Stephanie Madrigal and Michelle Garcia Winner state that "the purpose of this curriculum and comic book is to provide an engaging teaching tool to help students learn more about their own social behaviour and strategies on how to regulate it." (p.7). The students at SRSP will be working through these engaging lessons that teach them how to see things from other people's points of view, how to problem solve, and how to behave in socially acceptable ways. This is done through the use of a fun, engaging, superhero story. Please take the time to read the parent letter attached and the superhero cards that explain specific characters in the story. As we work through theiscurriculum I will continue to post information and activities for you to use at home. Please check back soon.

Superflexible Behaviours
As we work through the Superflex program we will be discussing how to see things from another perspective and how to problem solve. Below is a list of superflexible behaviours your child will learn about. Using the handout from Lesson # 3 you can use social scenarios happening at home to review superflex stratiegies and "Rock Brain" moments.
-Thinking about others (someone else's point of view) and expected behaviours.
-Being able to STOP what you want to do and adjust to what is required of you.
-During play, changing your thinking to match what others are thinking to stay connected and to keep others feeling good.
-Shifting and adjusting your thinking to keep others sharing their ideas and having a good time.
-Being able to stop and look at a problem and the variety of choices that one can use to solve the problem.
-Thinking about the hidden rules and expectations in different environments.
