Strategies taught in SRSP that are useful at home:
The purpose of teaching of social skills and strategies in SRSP is to help students' self-regulate their emotions and behaviours in the "real" world. Most strategies taught at SRSP are transferable to the home setting. The explanation of each strategy can be found on this site and a visual is often sent home with the student. It is helpful if parents and caregivers reinforce and use these strategies. The following are a list of some strategies and adaptations taught and used at SRSP that are useful at home:

-F.E.V.E.R. ( a focusing strategy)
-Turtle (an anger management strategy)
-Positive Self Talk
-"How to" strategies where specific skills, such as playing a game, joining a group, and asking for help, are broken down into manageable steps
